80% or above you should be good and not detectable at inspection stations. By Staff Writer Last Updated March 25, 2020. ***FYI, because our cars are so small, if you really want to block the most heat out, you need something on the front windshield. You would go this option if your main goal is cosmetics.
SPECTRA PHOTOSYNC VS 3M CRYSTALLINE WINDOWS
The side/back windows were tinted with Spectra Photosync IRD 30. This will be the least expensive option because there is little heat rejection. I had my front windshield done with 3M Crystalline tint (70).
SPECTRA PHOTOSYNC VS 3M CRYSTALLINE SERIES
It will have a slight Green Hue but its not bad and almost not noticeable (most certainly not as aggressive as the CIR).ģm color stable (Had this on my Miata NC) or Suntek Carbon series (had this on my 370z). If you want to stay legal, it is the darkest legal film you can put with VLT at 40%. From our 3M Automotive Window Film Crystalline Series 200 layers of nano-technology that rejects more heat but is virtually clear, to darker shades for privacy and protection, we offer options to match your lifestyle and price point. This film will give you decent heat rejection without breaking the bank. Suntek CXP (Had this on my BMW and currently on the woman's Mazda 3). Suntek CIR (currently on my ND) will be the best bang for your buck if you want good heat rejection, but has a strong green hue to it when the sun is directly on it (It's a great film against the suns heat, and looks good at certain angles, but the green is a bit too much sometimes when looking from the inside to out - my next car i'm choosing F1 Pinnacle again, only probably going darker) It's not cheap, but not as expensive as 3m crystalline. When fully activated, the tint can resist up to 98.5 of infrared light, allowing for superior heat rejection to keep you much cooler without needing to turn on the A/C. The film can change its shade up to 11 based on sun intensity. I guess it depends on the car window as well.įormula 1 Pinnacle Series (Originally had it on my ND, but their darkest legal wasn't as dark as i'd like it to be so i switched to darker tint) will give you the most grey neutral look. Spectra window tinting offers some amazing benefits to your driving experience. My buddy has the 3M Crystalline 25% but on his car it has a reflective blue to it. It does have a brownish hue to it through (looks good on certain cars). My folks have 3M Crystalline 40 on their SUV and it blocks out more heat than my 25% Suntek Ceramic film.
SPECTRA PHOTOSYNC VS 3M CRYSTALLINE INSTALL
It's harder to install and it is premium film, therefor it will be the most expensive of the bunch. A 39% tint will meter at 31% to 32% on our cars while 40% VLT film meters at 33% to 35%ģm Crystalline will provide the most heat rejection compared to any other tint and is simply the best there is. If you go legal, remember the tint law is nothing under 35% +\-2%. Do you want it for cosmetics or function?
